Spring Survey for Student Paths

  1. Visit the Student Paths Survey at the top of the page if you need assistance in directing students to www.mystudentpath.com
  2. Students will log in and complete the Spring Survey ($1.50 per student that completes the survey)
  3. After the survey is submitted, students will explore videos and articles of interest

  1. Advisory students will follow this link, click on “Make the Promise” icon to fill out the promise to graduate. https://getschooled.com/graduate-for-mas
  2. Students that “Make the Promise” will automatically be enrolled in the program and receive access to a variety of content: College Knowledge, Future Focus, Life Skills, Make the Grade, Money Talks, and more.
  3. What’s next? Encourage the students to watch the videos, play the games, take the surveys, and attempt the challenges on their dashboard. There is no set number of activities they must complete, but the more they click on and complete, the higher we go on the leaderboards to possible win prizes and money.

SENIOR DATES

Tuesday, March 8, 2016: Announcement Delivery - Announcements will be distributed during lunch periods in the high school commons. Jostens will also deliver announcements March 14th, April 5th, and April 12th.

 Friday, March 18, 2016: Extra Ticket Requests – This is the last day for all extra ticket requests. The request form must be submitted online via the Liberty High School Graduation website. The maximum allowable request is 3 extra tickets. You will be notified if your request has been granted on Tuesday, March 29th via the email provided on the online request form. If available, these extra tickets will be in the senior packet at the MANDATORY graduation practice on Friday, May 13th, 2016.

 Friday, April 22, 2016: Cap and Gown Distribution - Caps and gowns will be distributed during lunch periods in the high school commons. Tassels and honor cords may also be purchased on this day for those who qualify. Jostens will also deliver caps/gowns on April 27th. You can pay your balance online at www.studentunionkc.com (allow 48 hours to process payments).
Upon pickup of your items, please ensure you have a cap, gown, tassel, and stoll.

Harbor TV

All advisory teachers will need to log-in to access the videos to show in advisory. You personally created an account earlier this semester. If you did not create an account, simply follow the directions below.
*Videos for Advisory lessons can only be accessed by logging in to this account using the code highlighted below.

  2. Upper right corner click “Learn More”
  3. Enter the following code for LHS: SMC828
  4. Enter your information to create your account...Once logged into the HarborTV account
  5. Go to “The Harbor” pull down menu at the top of the page
  6. Click “Latest Episodes” (Consider adding this to your favorites)
  7. Locate the designated “Season/Episode” video according to the advisory lesson (lesson plan details are below)

  • whole group discussion
  • small group then share out

  • inner circle / outer circle

  • inner circle can have one set of questions to discuss while the outer circle remains quiet
  • outer circle can have a different set of questions to discuss while the inner circle remains quiet
  • any other idea you may have that gets the students processing today's lesson

Everyone codes! Teachers/classes can choose any age-appropriate coding website, APP, or unplugged activity.  Advisory students will be engaged in coding for all of advisory.

*If students do not want to code, one option could be to have them explore/ research why coding is important. The Computer Science for All initiative might be a great starting point for this.

Graduate For Más Challenge


Taco Bell Challenge: Make the Promise to graduate and use our games and tools to help you reach your graduation, college and career goals. We even have some great prizes - 

$500 for every school that gets 30% of new students to Make the Promise,

Advisory Grade Check
How do we support students in owning their learning?

Option #1:
  1. Have students open their PowerSchool on their laptops.
  2. Walk around the room and look at every student's grades or call students up individually with their laptops to show you their grades
  3. Provide encouraging feedback 
  4. If you want to know more about a grade in a specific class ask the student to click on the percent/letter grade in order to see assignment details for the class.
Option #2:
  1. Use Teacher PowerSchool to access student grades (see PDF for PowerSchool support)
Option #3:
  1. Implement your own version of grade checks so as long as you are conferencing with each student
